About us

Did you know that there are around half a million voluntary and community organisations in the UK*, of which about 70% are active at a local level? And they are all committed and passionate about what they do.

Hampshire and the Isle of Wight benefit from the work and activities of a rich variety of voluntary and community organisations. There are thousands of groups and individuals contributing to giving their communities a better quality of life. But how can you find out about them?

e.VOLve is a database of voluntary and community organisations serving Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Whether you want to find out about voluntary and community groups because you:

  • are looking for some support;
  • want to volunteer; or,
  • join in a local community activity;

then e.VOLve will help you find out WHO is doing WHAT and WHERE.

If you work for a public sector agency, it can help you find out about voluntary and community groups with whom you could work in partnership.

Businesses can find out what is happening in their local communities that they might be able to support.

e.VOLve has around 7000 entries but with the work of the project partners, this is set to grow significantly over the coming months. By bringing all this information into one place, it will become clear just how great a contribution our local voluntary and community groups are making.

The e.VOLve project has involved a pooling of effort and partnership working. The agencies who have worked together to make this database a reality are:

The Hampshire & IOW Network of Councils for Voluntary Service, Hampshire County Council, Business Link Wessex, The Learning Partnerships for Hampshire and IOW, the Hampshire & IOW Learning & Skills Council, Connexions South-Central, Hampshire & IOW Health Authority, Government Office for the South East, The District Council Community Development Officer Network, and North Harbour Consulting Ltd.

Look out for news updates about how e.VOLve is growing and changing.
